Homemade Vampire-Fighting Bread

I love the taste of garlic bread with any meal. The grocery store has tons of options for pre-made garlic bread, but I have noticed that none of them use whole wheat or even whole grain bread!

I came up with a simple, dummie-proof solution to get my garlic on without resorting to white bread (the whiter the bread, the sooner you're dead!).

At my weekly grocery store trip, I pick up some freshly baked whole wheat or whole grain crusty bread from the bakery, or, if they don't have any, some freshly baked wheat rolls (also from the bakery, they usually have these).

You will also need: Butter (or Margarine), Garlic Powder (about 1/2 tsp.), and Grated Parmesan Cheese.

To make the delicious garlic bread:

Step #1: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees (you can play around with the temperature and the timing if you're already using the oven to make another dish).

Step #2: Slice up the bread (I just slice off how ever many pieces I am using at the time), or, if you are using rolls, cut them in half (since right now there's just the 2 of us!).

Step #3: Put the bread or rolls on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Step #4: Butter up your bread to your desired butteriness.

Step #5: Sprinkle about 1/2 tsp. of garlic powder on each slice of bread until evenly covered.

Step #6: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan onto each slice until you have reached your desired level of chee-ze-ness.

Step #7: Pop the bread into the oven for about 5 to 7 minutes until the butter is melted, and the bread is warm and slightly crispy.

Serve and enjoy! :)

**You can also sprinkle your bread with some basil or other fresh (or dried) herbs of your choice.

Here is some delicious homemade garlic bread (a la ME!) with Chicken Parm-a-mazing.

Trust me, it's a killer combo.

xoxo
